There are a number of natural ingredients which can be used for clearing the blocked drains of your house. These ingredients are easily found in home kitchens. So, before trying the harsh chemicals for unblocking the drains, please try these natural methods to clear the blocked drains:

  1. Dry out the sink which is clogged and gradually, put one cup of baking soda into it and make sure that the baking soda goes down the drain.

  2. Now take two cups of boiling water and pour it into the sink and wait for 30 minutes

  3. Add another cup of soda, if required, and during the second time, you need to replace the boiling water with white vinegar

  4. Now, you will hear some sizzling sound and bubbles will emit from the drain. This sign is an indication of unclogging.

  5. Once the bubbles fade away, pour two cups of boiling water.

Try this method at least once in a month even if the drain is not clogged because it keeps  the blocked drains clean and prevent any type of build-up which can clog the drain.

Usages of chemical cleaners for unclogging blocked drains

To avoid the aforementioned steps, you can also, simply, switch to chemical cleaners that are readily available in the market today. There are many effective products available, which are designed for this sole purpose of clearing the blocked drains. These chemical cleaners are required to be poured directly into the clogged drains and the chemicals start working as soon as it comes in contact with the greases and build-up in the clogged drains. The chemical cleaners are designed with ingredients that are approved for removing germs and greases which clog the drains and result in odors. Once the cleaner has done its job, you need to pour sufficient water into the sink so that the residuals are flushed out and you get a clear drain again.
